Kole arrived at MontRose at eight weeks of age. He began his AKC show career at 13 months of age and with four major wins, was a champion at 14 months with a Best of Breed win and twice Best of Winners. Kole went on to become a multiple Best of Breed and Group Placement winner in AKC. Kole finished his ASCA (Australian Shepherd Club of America) championship with three five point majors and finished his CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) championship with ease. Kole acquired his AKC obedience title (CD) in November 2000. In 2002, Kole qualified for Record of Merit (ROM I) with 10 titled offspring in conformation, the first Australian Shepherd with a title at both ends of the name in USASA history to achieve that recognition. In 2003, Kole qualified for Record of Merit Excellence (ROMX III) with 25 titled offspring in conformation, obedience, and agility, again the first Australian Shepherd with a title at both ends of the name in USASA history to achieve that recognition. Kole has been presented with ROM-C I (conformation), ROM-P I (performance), and ROM-O I (obedience) certificates, the first sire to achieve this recognition in all three categories by USASA (United States Australian Shepherd Association). Kole became an ASCA Hall of Fame sire at age nine.
Entered into rest at home on the morning of December 24, 2010 aged 14 years, 11 months, 5 days. He was a superb ambassador for the breed and never met a stranger. He was devoted to his human family. He will be sorely missed and forever remembered for his long dives under water for rocks at the nearby creek where he spent many summer hours and the trees he so often climbed. Never ill a day in his life and though his demise was not unexpected, it came quickly due to advanced age. He lived a long productive and happy life as attested to by the many acquaintances and friends he acquired. He is survived by many well known progeny. He was laid to rest in the family cemetery beside his first and long term true love Ch Bayshore Bubble Yum ROM I and other family members near the creek he so dearly loved.
